Online Keno is More Fun than Casino Keno
Standard Keno, as found in a casino Keno lounge, consists of a big board displaying numbers from 1 to 80. There is a drum or basket, made of a clear substance, filled with balls, each one carrying one of the 80 numbers.
Players are given Keno paper tickets and Keno marking crayons. Each player can pick up to 15 numbers which he hopes will be drawn from the drum. The amount he bets is decided before the play begins. The Keno drum pops out 20 randomly generated numbers and the winnings are determined by how many "matches" the player has made.
Online Keno
With online Keno, you have a different set of tools. Instead of paper tickets and crayons, you use your mouse and computer screen. You still have the same 80-numbers Keno board. You pick your numbers by clicking on your choices. The numbers then change color. If you change your mind, you can "unselect" any number by clicking on it again. This is something you cannot do at a land casino Keno lounge.
Then you decide on your bet amount by clicking on one or more of the betting buttons to designate your wager. At a land casino you actually pay in your chips or money to a Keno clerk.
The rest of the game is the same: Once you have clicked the "Play" button, you wait to see if any of the picks you made match the balls called by the Keno drum. If they do, these numbers light up on the Keno board and your winnings are displayed.
The Advantages of Online Keno
One of the most important advantages of online Keno is that the house odds are much lower than in a land casino. Land casino house odds can sometimes reach up to 30% whereas online the odds never go over 12%. This is definitely better for the online keno player.
Another advantage of online keno is that you can choose to play a number of consecutive games with the same numbers-pick. You can click on Play One, Play Five or more, while you sit back and let the computer do the work. Your winnings, if any, are added up for you.
