The Simple Rules of Online Bingo
The tools of Bingo are: a board showing five vertical and five horizontal columns with the vertical columns headed by the letters B-I-N-G-O. Individual Bingo cards with the same vertical and horizontal columns - only the columns are filled with randomly selected numbers as follows:
-B column - from 1 to 15
-I column - from 16 - 30
-N column - from 31 to 45 with the middle space blank as a joker
-G column - from 46 to 60
-O column - from 61 to 75
Then we have a Bingo blower - that is a drum, basket, box or any container with the 75 numbered balls which are randomly blown out and called by a caller. As each number is called, the player searches his Bingo card and marks it if he has a match.
The winning patterns are determined by the rules of the house, party or event.
Winning patterns can be:
-a full line of 5 numbers in a vertical, horizontal or diagonal row
-4 corner numbers
-a full card completed
The first player to complete a winning pattern shouts out "Bingo".
Playing Bingo Online
Of course, when you are playing the game online, you are playing alone with your computer. The online Bingo will have a caller, a display board and the winning pattern all on your screen.
Your cards are randomly selected. At most Bingo sites you are given 3 or 4 cards, but there are some sites that will allow you as many as you want. Some sites will also allow you to change cards if you don't like the look of the numbers. One reason to change cards would be duplication of numbers, i.e. if you have 3 cards that all have one of the same number you might want to change one or two of them.
Remember that the Bingo cards are purchased by you unless you are playing a "free" game. The more cards you purchase, the more you stand to lose if you don't get a winning pattern. On the other hand, if the Bingo prize or "jackpot" is high, it is worth your while to get as many cards as possible.
The only skill required in the game of Bingo, is the ability to "click" on a called number on all your cards before the next number is called. Online Bingo games have an "auto daub" and an "auto Bingo" feature. These features prevent you from missing a number, or incorrectly marking a card. It is true that these features remove some of the excitement of playing the game, but you will avoid the risk of missing a call and perhaps a winning card.
